BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Fearful President Barack Obama will move aggressively to limit firearms, an Idaho Republican lawmaker said at least two bills meant to bolster gun rights will be introduced Monday. Rep. Judy Boyle of Midvale said one measure would strengthen Idaho law enforcement agencies' hand in resisting federal attempts to confiscate weapons or ammunition declared illegal under federal law.

Another would create a new category of concealed weapon permit requiring more training. Not only would that help Idaho's concealed weapon permits to be recognized in other states, Boyle said, but it could convince more and more school boards to allow people to carry guns on their premises. President Obama has proposed more background checks for gun buyers and favors banning guns with large-capacity magazines following the December killings of 20 Connecticut first-graders.
