Drivers are scoring big at the gas pump too.

"I work in Castleford and live in Buhl and I'm in Twin all of the time. I'm loving the gas prices right now, it's not breaking the bank, said Motorist Sara Garrett.

Statewide, Idaho's average price for regular grade gasoline is $2.26 cents per gallon.

That's up just .5 cents from the national average of $ 2.21 a gallon.

Here in Twin Falls the average price is sitting at $1.82.

That's .44 cents less than the state average.

Since September we've seen a .50 cent drop in prices. It's crazy to think that just a year ago, we were paying over $3 a gallon.

"This is a terrific relief at the pump for motorists and its not often we get a chance to talk about a major drop in prices like the one we've just experienced," said AAA Spokesman Dave Carlson.

Carlson attributes the low prices to an abundance of cheap oil.

He also says there should be no major change in prices through February.

"It's that time of year where the holidays are coming, and you have gifts for family members, kids, like I have two little ones. It helps a lot in the long run...to put away the extra money that you don't spend," said Motorist Lacey Hofland.

Within the next 10 days, AAA plans to release its predictions for holiday travel.

Carlson says they believe those numbers will be up from where they have been because of the low gas prices.
