TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KLIX)- One Idaho non-profit is doing all it can to give a helping hand to Idaho veterans. Its called Brave Hearts of Idaho and it aims to give financial assistance to veterans and their families. Brave Hearts of Idaho pays for food, power, gas, and even rent for returning soldiers. All their money comes from donations and grants. Phil Hawkins a volunteer coordinator with the Idaho State Veterans Home says they try and help anyway they can financially. Hawkins says they most they can give any single veteran is a $500 dollar grant. They also make it a point to pay the bill directly for the vet. That way they know the money is being spent on what is needed. This morning auto dealer Lithia of Twin Falls will hand over a check to the non-profit.
