NOTUS, Idaho (AP) — Two volunteer firefighters with the Wilder Rural Fire Protection District in southwest Idaho have been suspended after police say they burglarized a home in Notus.

The Canyon County Sheriff's Office says 26-year-old Michael Squibb and 32-year-old Robert Mullins were arrested Tuesday.

Police say a caller reported a burglary and minutes later deputies stopped a vehicle containing stolen appliances and other items.

Squibb and Mullins were booked into the Canyon County Jail and the property returned to the owner.

Squibb faces charges of felony burglary and grand theft. Mullins faces a charge of malicious injury to property.

Wilder Rural Fire District Chief Steve Rhodes in a statement Wednesday says the two firefighters have been suspended pending the outcome of criminal proceedings.
