BOISE, Idaho (KTVB) -- The Goat Fire burning in the Salmon-Challis National Forest has grown to 430 acres and may burn all summer. It's about two miles from the mouth of the Middle Fork of the Salmon River. The wildfire was started by lightning more than a week ago. Fire managers say it is not safe to put any firefighters on the fire right now because of the rough terrain.

So they will keep an eye on it and expect it to burn throughout the summer, or until rain puts it out. The Goat Fire has closed down one trail - the Horse Heaven wilderness trail.
