Idaho Dairy Plant Recalls Product for E. Coli Concern

BOISE, Idaho (KTVB) - The Meadow Gold Dairy plant in Boise has issued a voluntary recall of whipping cream and half and half products due to concerns about insufficient pasteurization.

The recall includes about 10,000 units distributed to retail stores in four states: Idaho, Oregon, Wyoming, and Utah.

Insufficient pasteurization means that pathogens may be present in raw milk, including salmonella, listeria, or E. coli. If ingested, those pathogens could cause serious or life threatening illnesses.

According to a company news release, there have been no reports of illnesses connected to the recalled products.

Meadow Gold is removing the products from store shelves, and officials are telling consumers who have any of the products below to throw them out and return the package to the store for a full refund.
