Idaho Charter School Could Lose Charter

IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (AP) — The Public Charter School Commission has issued a letter of intent to revoke a southeastern Idaho charter school's charter.

The Post Register reports that the commission sent the letter on Wednesday to Odyssey Charter School in Idaho Falls after the school failed three accreditation readiness visits. The commission determined that the school wouldn't be able to achieve accreditation candidacy status by a June 30 deadline.

The school has 30 days to reply, and that's followed by a public hearing within 30 to 60 days. Commission Director Tamara Baysinger says a hearing officer will make a recommendation and the commission will make the final decision. The school has about 200 students.
