BOISE, Idaho (AP) — A Wilder woman who admitted to investigators that she shook an infant until it went limp has been sentenced to at least four years in prison.

The Idaho Statesman reports  a judge ordered 29-year-old Sarah Kuiper-Boles Wednesday to serve at least four, and up to 10, years in prison for felony injury to a child.

In February, Wilder police investigated Kuiper-Boles after a doctor reported the 6-month-old's injuries.

Kuiper-Boles told police on one occasion she shook the baby so hard his eyes rolled back in his head and he vomited before going limp.

The baby's mother says the child has had five surgeries since his injuries and now suffers from developmental delays. She urges people to look into the history of potential babysitters and ask for references.
