BOISE -- SuperValu is reportedly moving toward a deal to sell off its Albertsons stores, including those in Idaho. Boise was the home base for Albertsons until 2006 when SuperValu bought most of the grocery market chain. Cerberus Capital Management acquired other Albertsons stores - mostly in the Southwest. That group had recently been in talks about possibly taking over all of SuperValu, but those talks have stalled. A story published online by Bloomberg says that Cerberus Capital Management may instead seek control of SuperValu's two largest chains - Albertsons and Save-A-Lot - and take a stake in what's left of the SuperValu company, rather than taking it over completely. Bloomberg cites unnamed sources. None of the companies involved would comment on the record. via ktvb.com
