TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KLIX)- Interstate 84 will get a new paint job starting this week. According to the Idaho Transportation Department crews will begin their annual roadway striping on I-84 June 1st

Work will start at the Utah state line,  go through the Magic Valley, and continue on to Boise. Lane painting helps improve safety in low-visibility conditions according to officials. Drivers need to watch out for slow-moving vehicles while crews work. Expect to see several trucks during the project which will be clearly visible with flashing lights and signs. Drivers will be asked to slow down and go around the working vehicles. Paint crews are expected to be in Glenns Ferry by June 6th.

All work, with the exception of areas in Boise, will be done during the day. ITD also reminds drivers to stay in the lane of travel and not run over fresh paint. The paint can splatter onto a vehicle and ruin the quality of the marking. Damage that occurs due to a failure to comply with advisory signs is considered the responsibility of the driver. The work will cost the state nearly $600,000.
