Being a women has it's perks and it has it's frustrating moments. At the end of the day I'm glad I'm a women for numerous reasons but, when I spend an entire weekend in a salon I become frustrated.

Some women are talented enough to cut their own hair, do their own nails and never need to set foot in a salon. Me, and a lot of other women, spend hours in a salon every year... But do you know just how much money that actually amounts to? How about over the course of your lifetime?

Hold on to your curling iron. You may want to sit down for this one.

According to a British survey conducted by Tresemme, the average woman spends a staggering $50,000 on her hair over her lifetime. Here's how it breaks down annually:

  • Women spend an average of $160 on shampoos and conditioners.
  • $120 for styling products.
  • $520 for haircuts.
  • And for those who color, add in another $330 a year.

But money is not the only significant investment women make. The amount of time spent on styling is staggering when you add it up.

Women spend an average of one hour and 53 minutes a week washing, blow drying and styling. By the time you reach the age of 65, you will have spent more than seven months of our lives on you hair!

And if you have ever spent the entire weekend in a salon you may be wondering why you do all the maintenance that you do.
