I was joking with Adam and Jackie the other day about turning 40.   They were giving me grief about how my hair is going gray and the next thing you know, I'll need glasses.

You know what?  No more than an hour after we got done talking, I had to read some fine print on a document.  Naturally, I pulled it closer to my face so I could read it.  To my dismay, it had the opposite effect.  The closer I got to the page, the blurrier it got.  I always thought that when your vision goes bad you wouldn't be able to see things at a DISTANCE.

This picture is a good representation of what I see when I hold the page about six inches from my face.  If I pull it out further, I can see it just fine.  What's going on here?
