BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Supervalu Inc., the owner of Albertson’s, is laying off 20 employees in Albertson’s administrative office in Boise at the end of August to cut costs. Supervalu spokesman Mike Siemienas says the information technology employees were given at least a 30-day notice of the layoffs. In February, about 130 Albertson’s administrative employees in Boise were laid off as part of a company-wide cut of 800 jobs. The layoffs leave about 1,000 people at the Boise administrative office, along with about 2,300 at 33 Albertsons stores around the state. On Monday, Supervalu announced the firing of CEO Craig Herket. Chairman Wayne Sales is now leading the company’s efforts to increase its revenues. Minneapolis-based Supervalu bought Albertson’s in 2006.
