TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KLIX) – Cities, counties and highway district can apply for grants of up to $60,000 through early April via the Idaho Americans with Disabilities Act Curb Ramp Program.

Funds will be used for construction starting by May 2018, according to the Idaho Transportation Department, and must be completed within a year.

Applications, which must be completed and sent to this address by April 6, are available on the ITD website.

The Idaho ADA Curb Ramp Program provides funding for projects to build or correct curb ramps on the state highway system and within the state’s right-of-way. ITD allocates $500,000 of state funds annually for this program.

"The goal of the program is to partner with local agencies in order to provide accessible facilities for all pedestrians, especially those with disabilities," said Jared Holyoak, manager of ITD's Curb Ramp Program.
