HAILEY, Idaho (AP) — A 52-year-old Gooding woman faces two to six years in prison for embezzling up to $500,000 from a real estate brokerage, its owner and her friend over a period of about seven years. The Idaho Mountain Express reports  5th District Judge Robert Elgee on Monday also ordered Tracy Dalin to pay $75,000 in restitution.

Dalin had served as secretary and real estate agent at Sun Land Investments in Bellevue and also managed the personal accounts of the owner and her friend. Prosecutors alleged Dalin used complicated account transfer schemes to hide the theft of up to $500,000. She did repay some of the money before the company grew suspicious of her in 2009.

Elgee rejected a proposal that Dalin be jailed with work release so she could continue teaching home economics at Bliss High School.
