Gooding Mayor Passes Away

Gooding, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) – Gooding Mayor William Duke Morton, 71, passed away early this morning at his home surrounded by his family. Idaho’s First News reports Mayor Morton served as the mayor in Gooding since being appointed in August 2006. He also served as a Gooding City Council member from 2004 to 2006.

He was born in Casper Wyoming. He worked as a research phychologist at Fort Logan Mental health Center in Colorado as deputy director of the Department of Human Services, State of Oregon. Duke Morton also worked for various software development companies in California and Program Manager for Idaho Health and Welfare. Arrangements are pending under the care and direction of Demaray Funeral Service, Gooding.
