Gooding, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV ) - What started out as a house fire has turned into a drug investigation. Gooding Police Chief Chris Ward said that on Saturday November 15 officers were called to the 100 block of 10th Avenue West by the Gooding Fire department who was at the scene of a residential structure fire.

The Fire Department had located a possible drug manufacturing operation while battling the house fire. Chief Ward said that Investigators from the Gooding Police Department with the assistance of the Gooding County Sheriff’s Office and the Gooding Prosecuting Attorney’s Office obtained and executed a search warrant on the residence and seized suspected marijuana plants and items used in the manufacture of those plants.

Jody G. Self, 39 of Gooding, was taken into custody and booked into the Gooding County Jail on charges of Manufacturing a Controlled Substance. The Chief is asking that anyone with narcotics information should call the department tip line at 208-934-8436 ext 22. You may remain anonymous.
