Yesterday, we told you that the Idaho Potato Commission's giant potato was coming to Twin Falls.

Today, it showed up in a BIG way.

The potato was built by the Potato Commission to celebrate 75 years of promoting Idaho Potatoes and to draw some attention to the Meals on Wheels program.

IF the potato were real -

  • It would take 10,000 years to grow
  • It would take 2 years / 9 months to bake
  • It weighs 12,130 pounds, equal to about 32,346 medium sized Idaho Potatoes
  • It would make 30,324 servings of mashed potatoes

We spoke to Ellis on The Morning Show and he shared some fun stuff about traveling with the potato.

The potato was built in Weiser and took about a year to build.  Check out some great pics and watch a very interesting video about how the potato was built.
