BELLEVUE, Idaho (KLIX) – A planned event on Saturday is designed to help homeowners make their properties safer during fire season.

The Firewise event – held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 11 at Webb Nursery in Bellevue – is coordinated with the Twin Falls district of the Bureau of Land Management and Mid-Snake Resource Conservation & Development.

There are several ways to mitigate the hazards of fire around your home. Firewise expert Lorraine Simonson will share tips on Firewise landscaping, how to get started, and plants best suited to prevent the spread of wildfire.
