George Strait is returning to Atlanta in 2019 for a very special, one-night-only concert event. The country icon has announced a show at Mercedes-Benz Stadium on March 30, 2019.

Chris Stapleton, Chris Janson and singer-songwriter Ashley McBryde will accompany Strait at the concert, which marks his only gig in the area since the Atlanta date of his Cowboy Rides Away Tour. Strait performed at Atlanta's State Farm Arena in 2014.

The Cowboy Rides Away Tour marked the final full tour of Strait's career, but the 66-year-old entertainer still performs select live dates with his band. Most notably, Strait has performed 18 Strait to Vegas shows at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas over the past several years. He's made a few other scattered appearances in 2018, including two nights in Tulsa, Okla., and one night in Austin, Texas.

Strait also headlined a sold-out gig at the Bayou Country Superfest at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, and he'll wrap his 2018 schedule with two more Vegas shows on Dec. 7 and 8. Strait recently announced that he would extend his Strait to Vegas shows into 2019 for two shows on Feb. 1 and 2. McBryde will also accompany him on those live dates.

George Strait Has One of Country Music's Sexiest Voices

Tickets for Strait's Atlanta show are set to go on sale on Friday, Nov. 16 at 10AM ET via Ticketmaster.com. Strait and his Ace in the Hole Band will be performing the upcoming shows without their longtime drummer, Mike Kennedy, who was killed in a car accident in Tennessee in August.

"Hard to put into words how much Mike's passing has affected us all," Strait posted to Instagram after Kennedy’s death. "Our hearts are broken. It’s going to be very strange not being able to look over and see him there in his spot on stage and very emotional as well I’m sure for all of us and also his fans. The band will never be the same. A part of us is gone forever. We all loved Mike and will miss him terribly. He was just as solid a friend to us all as he was a drummer, and that was damn solid. Our hearts and prayers are with his family. The Lord has him now. Rest in Peace my friend."
