It’s been almost 10 years since Garth Brooks released 2001′s ‘Scarecrow,’ his last album of original material — and four years since he added a pair of previously unreleased tracks to his ‘The Ultimate Hits’ compilation.

The bad news for Brooks’ fans is that their wait for a new record will continue for awhile. The good news? Brooks has an idea of when he’ll return to his mega-platinum career.

“Not until all the babies are out [of the house],” Brooks revealed to PARADE when asked about his plans for another album. “I’m going to raise them and then hit it with a vengeance. We’ve got another three or four years.”

In the meantime, Brooks will continue playing to sold-out crowds at the Wynn Las Vegas, where he’s booked a residency that runs through early November. In Brooks’ words, “It’s fantastic. But it’s just me and a guitar onstage.”

Even after all these years, Brooks admitted to PARADE, he still gets the jitters. “My wife [Trisha Yearwood] asks me why I get so nervous,” he admitted. “I say, ‘Because I don’t know why it works; I don’t know why they’re so sweet to me.’”

Brooks’ most recent single, 2008′s ‘Midnight Sun,’ peaked at number 36. ‘The Ultimate Hits,’ released in 2007, has been certified for sales of more than five million copies in the U.S.
