He went from being a giant apple robot (insert Mac joke here) to being one of Beck's most fearsome opponents. Say hello to Mighty No. 7, the newest robo-boss announced for Mighty No. 9.

The official Kickstarter for Mighty No. 9 has released the concept designs, from start to finish, of this newest boss. The page shows how Keiji Inafune and his team at Comcept settled on a final design. The Kickstarter shows the hilarious joke concept of having a boss look like a robotic apple, with "Apple Man" being diced by the final product. It looks as though No. 7 was intended to be a modernized version of Cutman from the original Mega Man title.

Based on its final look, Mighty No. 7 takes inspirations from Tengu Man from Mega Man 8, Proto Man, Zero from the Mega Man X series (especially with his scarf reminding us of Zero's flowing hair), and its weapon design from Ryuko of the hit anime series, 'Kill La Kill' (based on having a massive pair of scissors that were split into two giant blades). We feel that this is an excellent addition to the roster as it pays tribute to a variety of favorite Mega Man characters.

While no release date has been set, we can't wait to get our hands on the spiritual successor to the Blue Bomber. According to the Kickstarter and the funding goals that were made, Mighty No. 9 is expected to come out for PC, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and PS Vita.
