BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Friends of a woman killed in a triple slaying last week in southern Idaho are contributing to help her two surviving children. Yavette Chivon Carter was found shot Friday, with Brent Christensen and his son, Trent Jon Christensen, at a Holbrook ranch. Carter's children, 2-year-old Brayly Kay and 2-month-old Havyn Belle, were found unharmed.

The Blackfoot Morning News  reports there's a raffle and dinner later this month, to raise money for the two children. James Davis, a family spokesman, says a fund is also being created, to be overseen by the children's grandparents to help defray funeral costs.

Oneida County Jeff Semrad says police have spoken to witnesses, leading to potential suspects. Sixty-five pit bulls have been relocated from the ranch, which housed a fighting dog and marijuana operation.
