UPDATE: Fire Sparks in Southern Twin Falls County

TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KLIX)- A fire has flared up west of Hollister in the southern part of Twin Falls county Saturday afternoon around 5:30. A Bureau of Land Management spokesperson says crews were able to contain the West Hollister Fire by midnight Sunday.

The fire burned 3028 acres of BLM and private land. 15 engines, 2 dozers, and 1 water tender were on scene. The fire was caused by lighting after a strong thunder storm system went through the area. Structures were not threatened.

Fire crews also responded to another lightening caused fire north of Paul. The Kimama Fire burned around 174 acres. 3 engines and 1 water tender were on scene. The fire was controlled Saturday night.
