Fire Forces Evacuations in Prairie

According to KMVT.com:

MOUNTAIN HOME, Idaho (KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV / KBOI)- Evacuations have been ordered for all residents of Prairie due to a series of fires in Elmore County.

Officials are asking residents to evacuate through Box Creek.  Several fires sparked from dry lightning in Elmore County have lead to the closure of Highway 20.

Boise BLM says it's had eleven fires start since 10 p.m. Thursday. In total, the fires have burned an estimated 25,000 acres. The highway closed after three fires merged together.

Highway 20 is closed north of Mountain Home as one of the fires is burning along both sides of the highway in areas from mile marker 102-111. | Idaho Road Report

"There is no estimated time for the road to be re-opened, but an effort will be made to do so as soon as safely possible," BLM said in a news release.

The agency says multiple structures are threatened.
