SHOSHONE, Idaho (KLIX)- Fire crews worked to contain a wild fire burning north of Dietrich Sunday afternoon.

According to the Bureau of Land Management the Cottonwood Fire burned an estimated 1,100 acres. Crew expected to have the fire contained by Sunday night and fully controlled by Monday.  No homes or buildings were threatened. What caused the fire is under investigation.

There were six engines, one water tender, one dozer, one  type III helicopter, three Single Engine Air Tankers, and one Air Attack that were able to slow the progression of the Cottonwood Fire.
