FILER, Idaho (AP) — A south-central Idaho man is charged with firing a shotgun in the direction of a crop duster airplane that he apparently felt was flying too low.

The Times-News reports 42-year-old Christopher V. Lewis of Filer was arraigned in District Court Monday on a felony charge of discharging a firearm at an aircraft. Charging documents say a pilot with Ken-Spraying LLC said he was spraying from his crop duster when someone wielding a shotgun was waving at him.

At about the same time, someone contacted the company threatening to "dust the pilot with his 10 gauge shotgun." Lewis said a neighbor brought his kids into Lewis' house because he was concerned with how low the plane was flying. Court records say Lewis told deputies he was angry, went outside with his shotgun and "did something bad."
