'Fast and Furious 7' hasn't made a lot of noise lately, even though it starts shooting this fall and is scheduled to hit theaters next July. We don't even know if Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson will be done filming 'Hercules' in time to appear in the film. But we have just gotten the first big new casting news, as UFC star Ronda Rousey is in negotiations to join the cast.

This news comes from Variety, and Rousey would have some shoes to fill. For those who didn't see 'Fast and Furious 6,' several characters have permanently left the franchise. Perhaps with this latest entry they'll move away from the team/heist dynamic which helped make the last two entries a hit. That said, the end credits set up the next film's new villain of the series, and he seems ready to take on Dom (Vin Diesel) and Brian (Paul Walker) and whoever else they have helping them.

'Fast and Furious 7' is set to take place in Los Angeles - even though it will shoot in Atlanta - and Diesel and Walker are confirmed to star, with 'The Conjuring' director James Wan taking over directorial duties for Justin Lin, who helmed the last four entries in the series. 'Fast and Furious 7' is scheduled to hit theaters July 11, 2014.
