Famitsu Publishes New Details About Upcoming Game Killer Is Dead
Since it was announced back in April 2012, we have not heard much about the development of Grasshopper Manufacture’s Killer Is Dead. But thanks to someone over at Polygon who speaks Japanese and translated a feature that was published in Famitsu, we now have some concrete details.
Like its predecessors Killer7 and No More Heroes, Killer Is Dead will be presented in the gorgeous, cel-shaded glory that we’ve come to expect from Suda51. And judging from the title, there will be no shortage of violence to go along with the distinctive graphics.
The main character of Killer Is Dead is a guy with the amazing name of, and we’re hoping this is accurately translated here, Mondo Zappa. What does someone with an awesome name such as that do in a video game? Why, he hunts down cybernetic assassins while armed with a sword and a gun. Naturally!
According to Suda in Famitsu:
It’s the story of a man who doesn’t show himself much in the public world, but still worms his way into society and mercilessly eliminates the evil dispersed in it. It’s a personal story, not one that’s conscious of the chaos going on in the real world at the moment, but you might get more than a taste of that in the end anyway.
That gun he has is attached to his arm, by the way. Bruce Campbell style. Can never go wrong with that. Killer Is Dead is targeted for a summer release in Japan.
