Yesterday evening (Jul. 12), the ISP was called to investigate a two-vehicle crash in Twin Falls County, just west of Filer, when a failed stop claimed two lives.

From the Idaho State Police: On July 12, 2015, at approximately 6:19 pm, Idaho State Police investigated a two-vehicle fatality crash at the intersection of 1900 East and 4000 North in Twin Falls County, just west of Filer.

Owen Ladd, 36, of Buhl, and Cleopatra Ladd, 37, of Twin Falls, were traveling east on 4000 North in a 2012 Jeep Patriot. Sean Hughes, 21, of Twin Falls, and Hallee Hitt, 17, of Rupert, were traveling south on 1900 East in a 2006 Dodge Ram 2500. Ladd failed to stop at a stop sign, colliding with the Dodge pickup. The vehicles came to rest in a field in the southeast corner of the intersection.

Owen and Cleopatra Ladd succumbed to their injuries at the scene. Next of kin have been notified. Hughes and Hitt were transported by ground ambulance to St. Luke's Magic Valley Medical Center in Twin Falls. It is unknown at this time if any occupants were wearing seatbelts.

All lanes of 4000 North were blocked for approximately four hours. The northbound lane of 1900 East was blocked for two and a half hours as crews worked to clear the scene.

This crash remains under investigation by Idaho State Police.
