Heads up Facebook users, big blue just updated their privacy controls... again. This time, however, the changes seem to be a step in the right direction. Controls have been simplified and seem to do what we've wanted them to do all along.

The new privacy button has three options:

  • Who can see my stuff?
  • Who can contact me?
  • How do I stop someone from bothering me?

Seems pretty straight forward. The new privacy controls also let you take a stand against photos that you've been tagged in. Remember the office Christmas party from 2010? Yep, that picture is still on Facebook, and you're still tagged in it. Now you can go in and remove your tag if you want.

Facebook's App Permissions have been updated as well, and are actually pretty nice. If you've ever had to wade into the old permissions and try to revoke a certain app's privileges, you know how tedious the process used to be. Facebook's new app permissions are pretty streamlined and nice.

The changes are rolling out now. If you don't already, you should have the updated Privacy Controls by next week.
