BOISE, Idaho (AP) — The investigation of a domestic dispute report led Boise police to discover more than 100 pounds of bomb-making material in the crawl space of the suspect's house.

Police arrested 32-year-old Joshua J. Finch Wednesday morning on suspicion of two counts of felony kidnapping. Prosecutors say he held his girlfriend's parents in his house Monday night and told them he had guns, body armor and explosives and would kill police officers if they were called. The parents were eventually allowed to leave and told police what happened.

The Idaho Statesman reports Finch's girlfriend called her parents saying Finch was acting erratically after said he was buying body armor and ammunition. A District Court judge set Finch's bail at $1 million Thursday during an initial appearance on the second-degree kidnapping charges.
