Explosive Material Found Under Boise Home

Benito Baeza

BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Authorities have identified the 100 pounds of explosive material as black powder they say they found under a Boise home.

The Idaho Statesman reports in a story on Saturday that a prosecutor says Joshua J. Finch stored the explosive material in a crawlspace below the bedroom shared by his girlfriend’s two young children.

Police went to the home in November after receiving a report he had held his girlfriend’s parents in the house and told them he had guns, body armor and explosives and would kill police officers if they were called.

Finch is charged with second-degree kidnapping, possession of bombs or destructive devices, two counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and two counts of felony injury to a child.
