It looks like getting your license for big game hunting is going to take a little bit longer as Evolve has been delayed to next year.

According to Business Wire, 2K Games has unveiled during a financial earnings release that Turtle Rock Studios' Evolve has been pushed back to a February 2015 release. Evolve was originally slated for a launch this fall. 2K Games likely moved Evolve's release date for either more development time or to avoid the multitude of big name games being released from October 2014 through to the holiday season.

Just for October 2014 alone, 2K is releasing NBA 2K15, Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, Sid Meier's Civilation: Beyond Earth and WWE 2K15. Expect other big name titles from other publishers as well. Grand Theft Auto V is also expected for a launch sometime this fall. After Evolve launches next February, the only other game 2K has on deck is Battleborn, which is expected to launch in 2016, but we're sure it will announce many other projects in the meantime.

Having time to grow is a necessary part of evolution, so Evolve will now launch on Feb. 10, 2015 for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
