Additional Information

The College of Southern Idaho’s second annual Masquerade Ball will be held from 8 p.m. to midnight Saturday, Feb. 16 in the CSI Student Union Building. Students and the public are invited to dress up and join the party.

CSI students will be admitted free of charge. The public is welcome and encouraged to attend. General admission at the door the evening of the event will be $7 per person. Tickets in advance are $5 each and can be obtained from club members, the CSI Career Center, or the CSI Student Activities office, each located in the Student Union.

The theme of the ball is ‘Opposites Attract,’ which results in at least one of the evening’s contests. A prize will be given to the couple with the best opposing costumes. Prizes will also be awarded to the best-dressed man and woman. General attire, aside from those who come in costumes, will be formal or semi-formal. Prizes will also be awarded to the man and woman with the best masks.

Music will be provided by a live DJ. CSI Dance instructor Cindy Jones and the Ballroom Dance Club will provide free waltz lessons during the dance and in advance. Refreshments with deliciously opposite ingredients will also be available to everyone.

This is a key event for the CSI Misfits Club. Club president Aliana Pike says people sometimes misunderstand the club as well as its members. Unlike most other clubs that have a readily identifiable theme or core membership, the Misfits are simply a group of students who enjoy getting together for friendship and camaraderie. "It’s a club where everyone can fit in," says Pike, which is important wherever you are in life.
