Additional Information

So, you think you can’t dance? College of Southern Idaho dance instructor Cindy Jones would like to help you think otherwise. Social Dance (DANC 105), a one-credit fall semester class which begins Aug. 27, is for everyone who would like to be more confident on the dance floor.

Jones will introduce her students to the beginning figures and technique for the standard waltz, foxtrot, tango, cha-cha, rhumba, samba, and jive. Students will learn and demonstrate their knowledge and technique in proper posture and dance position, awareness and use of core, clarity and use of rhythm, proper execution of footwork, and an understanding of partnering skills and dance etiquette. Jones says this class will empower even the most inexperienced dancers.

Classes will meet from 11:00 to 11:50 Mondays and Wednesdays through the fall semester, which ends in mid-December. For more information, contact Jones at cynthiajones@csi.edu or any advisor in the CSI Matrix by calling 732-6250.
