Techland's first-person zombie survival game, Dying Light, was originally scheduled for a Valentine's Day massacre. Luckily, we're going to be getting it a few weeks earlier.

The Poland-based studios of Techland have announced that Dying Light's zombie apocalypse is going to be coming out earlier than anticipated. The game can now be pre-ordered from the game's official website, offering a free downloadable content mode called "Be the Zombie." Be the Zombie mode has you playing as a Night Hunter, a form of ultimate zombie that is faster and more dangerous than its cohorts, who must slay the player-controlled human survivors out in the world. As you can tell by this developer diary, Techland's Natural Movement engine connects parkour-esque moves with zombie-slaying aggression. Just remember, at night, the zombies become much more dangerous.

Dying Light will launch on Jan. 27 for PC ($49.99), PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One ($59.99 each).

Be ready for some gruesome deaths when Dying Light hits nightfall.
