BLACKFOOT, Idaho (AP) — Idaho State Police are cautioning motorists that harvest season has arrived and drivers need to be alert and cautious around large, slow-moving farming equipment on roads.

Sgt. Matt Manning tells KIFI-TV  that the amount of farm equipment using roadways increases this time of year and so do collisions.

He notes that farm equipment often lacks turn signals or brake lights.

The agency says that last year there were five fatalities involving cars colliding with farm equipment, making it one of the worst years police have seen.
