TWIN FALLS, Idaho (News Release) – Camille Barigar, special events coordinator for the College of Southern Idaho, has been selected to receive the 2016 Excellence in Arts Administration award from Gov. C.L. “Butch” Otter and Idaho First Lady Lori Otter.

The Governor’s Awards in the Arts were established in 1970 by the Idaho Commission on the Arts to recognize exceptional artists, arts organizations, and arts supporters. Nominations are reviewed by the commission and then presented to the Governor and First Lady for their independent decision.

Barigar has facilitated shows and events at the CSI Fine Arts Center for more than 17 years, including Arts on Tour, CSI Stage Door Series, Spring Arts Experience, CSI Dance, Theater and Music camps, and outreach programs to area schools. She also shares her love of the arts through acting, writing, and singing.

“I’m so touched to have been considered for this award,” Barigar said. “The arts is a labor of love that I believe in with all my heart. Through the arts, we become smarter, foster empathy, and make our souls sing.

“I am lucky to get to work doing something I am so passionate about and get a chance to make a difference in the Magic Valley.”
