TWIN FALLS, Idaho – The College of Southern Idaho has reached a settlement through its insurer Idaho Counties Risk Management Program (ICRMP) to resolve the lawsuit filed by Dr. Edit Szanto, former vice president of Student Services.

ICRMP procured the settlement in the amount of $650,000 to limit the costs and distraction associated with lengthy litigation. The settlement amount is paid solely through ICRMP; the settlement is not paid by CSI and does not impact CSI’s operating budget or funding.

The settlement agreement expressly acknowledges that the CSI defendants deny any liability or wrongdoing regarding Dr. Szanto’s allegations in her lawsuit. In exchange for the settlement payment, Dr. Szanto has agreed to release all of her current and potential claims and dismiss her lawsuit.

CSI President Dr. Jeff Fox said the college looks forward to being able to focus its efforts, time and attention on the current needs of the school and the community, CSI’s continued successes, and achieving its future goals.
