TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KLIX) – The College of Southern Idaho on Friday named Jim Cartisser, husband of former volleyball head coach Heidi Cartisser, the interim volleyball head coach.

Cartisser fills the position on the Golden Eagles that was left vacant by the unexpected death of his wife on Dec. 19.

Cartisser began his volleyball career playing in local tournaments in Oregon, according to CSI. He attended Portland State University, where he played court volleyball for the school's club team. His first collegiate coaching job was as the head coach for Edmonds CC in 1994. He remained there through 1997. Jim also coached for the Seattle Juniors Club program.

For the past seven years he's assisted with coaching at the college. Cartisser is the fourth CSI head coach h in the program's history.
