Country Star Josh Turner To Perform at “Givin’ Meth the Boot”

The Idaho Meth Project today announced that country music star Josh Turner will be performing in Idaho Falls on Thursday, August 25, 2011, to raise money to support the Meth Project’s prevention campaign in Idaho.

Sponsored by Mountain View Hospital, Josh Turner’s concert will be the first large, outdoor amphitheater-style performance held at Melaleuca Field.  Proceeds from the event will benefit the Idaho Meth Project. 

“The Idaho Meth Project has done an exceptional job educating teens about the risks of using methamphetamine,” said James Adamson, President and CEO of Mountain View Hospital, the concert’s presenting sponsor.  “Surveys show that attitudes about Meth have changed since the Project launched three years ago, and teen Meth use has dropped significantly.  Mountain View is a sponsor of the Idaho Meth Project because we know investing in prevention will not only save financial resources in the long run, it will also save lives.” 

Josh Turner’s concert at Melaleuca Field is the third annual “Givin’ Meth the Boot” fundraiser organized by Idaho Falls business and community leaders to support the work of the Idaho Meth Project. 

General admission tickets are available for a minimum donation of $28.  Tickets are available to the general public starting on Saturday, June 11 at 10:00 a.m. on the Idaho Meth Project’s website at www.IdahoMethProject.org or at the Melaleuca Field box office, located at 900 Jim Garchow Way in Idaho Falls. 

Tickets can also be ordered by calling 1-208-329-METH. Gates for the concert open at 6:00 p.m. on August 25, with a pre-show featuring the David Andrews Band before Josh Turner takes the stage at 8:00 p.m.
