Rodney Atkins in Twin Falls

Country recording artist Rodney Atkins was spotted riding a motorcycle across the Perrine Bridge in Twin Falls on Wednesday evening.  Here's what he was doing in Twin Falls.

If you were walking on the Canyon Rim Trail on Wednesday night, you might have caught a glimpse of a guy riding a motorcycle across the Perrine Bridge waving the American flag.  It was none other than country recording artist Rodney Atkins

Atkins was in Twin Falls with his management, a camera crew, and director Ryan Hamblin, shooting footage for the video to his new song "Caught Up In The Country".

It's a song about being outdoors. Some people go to church and think about fishing.  Some people go fishing and think about God.  I've always found that spirituality in the outdoors... I feel close to God.

The video will feature Rodney riding his bike across America and showcase local residents from various landmarks across the United States... (When Rodney and his crew arrived in Twin Falls, they had just finished shooting at the Salt Flats in Utah).

I asked Atkins why he chose the Snake River Canyon as one of those locations -

With the bike... The Evel Knievel connection for sure.  It's part of my childhood, part of what made me love bikes as a kid.  It's an epic part of America.

Adkins, who has played the Twin Falls County Fair in Filer, had nothing but great things to say about the Magic Valley.

... Some of the greatest hospitality I've ever come across while traveling the country is right here and that's why we wanted to make this a definite location for the shoot.

When the video is released, be sure to watch for the Snake River Canyon and the Perrine Bridge. And if you look for them, you might even catch a few familiar faces from Twin Falls as well.

In the meantime, you can pick up "Caught Up In The Country" on iTunes, and enjoy the studio version video on Youtube.
