It's been awhile since we've had a good earthquake in our area. If you've been waiting for a reason to pester your friends about how the super-volcano is about to erupt, I have good news for you. There's just been a moderate earthquake in West Yellowstone.

USGS registered this one as a 3.3 very close to West Yellowstone, which is larger than ones that happened near there last month.

This has been a somewhat active seismic week near Yellowstone. A few days ago, there was a 3.1 just north of Virginia City, Montana. In a somewhat unrelated (but kinda related) note, this one was reported by the Montana Bureau of Mines and Geology. I did not know they were a part of this earthquake game, so I guess I learned something.

The good news in all this is there's no need to move your car up on the curb to avoid the imminent lava flow from the super-volcano at Yellowstone. If that changes, we'll let you know.
