BOISE, Idaho (AP) — There were moments this season when the Boise State football team seemed young and inexperienced. But here's a surprising fact as coaches begin to turn their attention to next season: The Broncos return only 11 of 25 starters in 2013. Boise State is coming off an 11-2 season capped by Saturday's 28-26 victory over Washington in the Las Vegas Bowl.

Head coach Chris Petersen told The Idaho Statesman he's hoping players recruited in recent years and a new class can fill voids created by graduation. The Broncos return five starters on offense, including quarterback Joe Southwick, receiver Matt Miller and two linemen. Five starters also return on defense, including defensive end Demarcus Lawrence and safeties Jeremy Ioane and Darian Thompson. The Broncos open the 2013 season at Washington.
