Murray has worked in planning and development for the city of Provo since 2002. During the past five years he worked for the Provo Mayor’s Office on projects related to economic development and marketing that included: development of Provo’s first economic development strategic plan; working with teams to develop partnerships with the entrepreneurial community and regional development partners; and implementing Utah’s largest grassroots entrepreneurial meet-up festival, Startfest.

He graduated from Brigham Young University in 2001 and is currently working toward completion of a Master's in Community and Economic Development through Pennsylvania State University. Murray was raised in Boise and is happy to return to Idaho with his wife and five young children.

"Twin Falls is a city that just seems familiar to my family and me and we are excited to be here,” Murray said. “I can't wait to get to work and build on the successes of the past few years, and to be a part of the next wave of growth in economic development.”

The city began advertising the opening for an economic development director in March and accepted applications through May. After receiving 19 applications, the city worked with stakeholders in the community to narrow the applicants to three. The three finalists were invited to meet with city officials and community stakeholders.

The position of Twin Falls economic development director was previously held by Melinda Anderson, who left in November 2015 after accepting a position with the city of Tualatin, Ore. Anderson served as the Twin Falls economic development director for almost 10 years.
