City Council to Meet Early for Tour of City Hall, Public Safety Building

TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KLIX) – City Council members will tour the new City Hall and Public Safety building before their regularly scheduled meeting today.

They’ll start the tour at 3:30 p.m., with the regular meeting starting at 5 p.m. at the City Council Chambers, 305 Third Ave. East.

The Public Safety Complex, located at the former City Hall and Twin Falls Police Department, will be modern facility that will house the city’s law enforcement. A modern City Hall is being built at the site of the former Banner furniture building in downtown Twin Falls.

The last time council members toured the buildings was on Feb. 6.

Several presentations also are on this evening’s meeting agenda, including the police department’s annual report, the Long Term Planning Committee’s budget recommendations, and an awards presentation to two individuals for their design submissions in the archway project.

The council also will decide whether to support the preliminary design for the intersections of Shoshone St. at Fourth Ave. East and Sixth Ave. East.

The project is in response to accidents at the site and the city’s need to update signal equipment, according to the agenda item. The installation of left turn bays at the intersection of Shoshone Street at Fourth and Sixth are among the proposals of the project.
