City Council Take Down Parking Meter
(KLIX)- On Monday Twin Falls City Council decided to do away with the down town parking meters. On Tuesday the city began to shut down all meters and empty all the change. Anyone who went shopping down town found all the meters covered with bags. It marked the first time in many years people did not have to pay for parking. In a semi-formal event, several city councilmen and city staff helped take down the first parking meter. It was a duel meter next to Magic Valley Bank. City councilman Shawn Barigar says they are talking about how to get rid of the meters. He says some people have expressed interest in buying them. He says they may do some sort of sale as a fund raiser for downtown improvement. There are about 240 meters that will be removed throughout the week.
