Some businesses have decided to close January 4th, 2022 due to winter weather conditions. We are getting reports around the area of people getting snowed into their homes, power outages and hazardous driving conditions. Here is a list of businesses so far that have announced closures for January 4th.

For people new to the area that may not have experienced an Idaho winter yet, some adjustments and culture shocks are guaranteed to happen.

School districts around the Magic Valley have been canceling classes for Monday, January 3rd due to poor road and travel conditions. So far these schools have canceled classes:

If you are planning on heading up to Magic Ski Resort to go skiing or to Diamond Field Jack to go sledding, make sure you are aware of the conditions along the area. Twin Falls Sheriff's Office shared photos and information about slide offs along Rock Creek Road.

I have noticed a lot of large icicles forming on houses around the area. I think they are actually kind of beautiful, but they also look super scary. Even though there isn't a huge danger from them, there are reasons you should get the icicles off the roof of your house.

Due to the inclement weather today, December 27th, several businesses around the Magic Valley have shut down

As Idaho enters into the winter season the roads will worsen and people new to the state will need to adjust as some have never driven on snow or ice before.

Wind gusts of up to 60 miles per hour tore through Twin Falls and surrounding areas on December 14th. The high winds caused major damage to Twin Falls businesses, homes, and commutes.

Blaine County is under a Winter Storm warning until Tuesday, December 14th at 11 am. According to the winter storm warning information, up to 24 inches of snow is possible in areas above 6000 feet. Lower elevations could see up to 8 inches of snow.

If you are one of those who doesn't get in the Christmas spirit until the snow is on the ground, temperatures are chilly and lights are everywhere then you may not get the spirit this year. There is a chance that Idaho is not going to have a white Christmas.
