Christmas Carol Showdown – Martina McBride vs Lady A

I get a kick out of hearing all the different variety of my favorite Christmas songs.  When I hear the classics up against new versions, I can't help but compare and choose "my favorite"

Both Lady A and Martina McBride do a bang up job with "Let It Snow."  I'm hard pressed to pick my favorite.  Which is yours?  Take a listen and vote.

Teenagers Care More About the Internet than Their Driver’s License

When we were kids, we literally counted down the seconds until we were 16, which meant we could get our driver's license, which meant we had freedom and independence and real social lives.

Who Had the Biggest National Anthem Fail? [POLL]

Over the thanksgiving holiday, we witnessed another failed attempt at our National Anthem.

This time, it was Lauren Alaina during the Green Bay v Detroit game on thanksgiving day.

I saw more than a few facebook comments about the event and some unavoidable comparisons to Christina Aguilera's flub during the Superbowl

Where Does the Boyfriend Stay if he Comes to Your Home for Thanksgiving? [POLL]

I have a buddy who called me the other day.  He sounded really stressed out.  His daughter is a college Freshman and she'd like to bring her boyfriend home to meet the parents.
I feel for the guy

If You Hit a Kitten, Would You Stop To Try and Find It’s Owner? [Poll]

This morning on the way to work I saw an animal dart across the road and as I got closer I saw another animal sitting in the middle of the road. I swerved to go around it, but the animal must have moved in the wrong direction because I hit it.

Morning Show Talks About Moving Halloween – Your “Panties Get Twisted”

It feels like this has become a recurring discussion around Twin Falls.  Should Halloween be moved to a different day?  I've heard reasons ranging from convenience and kids being up too late on a school night to those citing religious reasons of not wanting Halloween to fall on a Sunday.

It appears as though we aren't the only place talking about this.  A state Representative from Connecticut is pushing to move their celebration to the last Saturday of the month regardless of what day it falls on.

Me?  I'm not buying into it.

Paging Dr. House: Vicodin Abuse Is On The Rise

The fictional TV doctor Greg House, while brilliant, spent the first several seasons of his hit FOX show wrestling with Vicodin (Hydrocodone) addiction. House was in pain because of his right leg, but the use of what was intended to be a prescription pain killer quickly got out of hand when he started to forge prescriptions for Vicodin, and even steal it from his patients.

Dr. House isn’t the only one this has happened to. This so-called “White Collar” drug abuse is on the rise, mostly due to the ease of obtaining pills like Hydrocodone, Oxycodone, and Hydromorphone.

Do You Keep Paying for Your Kids’ College When They Fail a Semester? [Audio]

Do you think sending your kids to college means that they go away, have some fun, study, live in a dorm and graduate four years later?  Not so much.  A nonprofit group called Complete College America just compliled some stats that say the vast majority of college students are part-time and taking around eight years to complete a four-year degree.

Boise Considers New Ordinance to Ban Smoking in Bars and Parks

I was surfing during the news last night and saw on the Boise News  that the city is considering an ordinance that will ban smoking in just about all public places, including parks and bars.

I've always had mixed feelings about this.  While I think its rude to puff away at a park while sitting three feet away from kids on playground equipment, I'm not sure it warrants an ordinance.

Could You Work With Your Spouse?

Miranda Lambert says that they she and husband, Blake Shleton, are not ready to tour together because their music isn't where it needs to be. I think that Miranda is saying that their music isn't where it needs to be and in reality  I think she might not be able to work with Blake Shelton. To be honest, I can't blame her.  Look...I love my husband and I enjoy spending time with him, but there is no way I could work with my him. We would kill each other!

Hey. You Make a Better Door Than a Window. Down In Front!

My daughter plays 7th grade volleyball.  I was at my daughters game a couple nights ago and it wasn't five minutes into the action when "one of those people" stood in front of the bleachers.  Don't pretend like you don't know who I'm talking about

Would You Get Botox In Your Armpits?

It's not just your imagination.  The people around you really do smell bad.  In a jarring new survey, 21% of men, or one in five, say they don't ever wear deodorant.  They don't even put on some body spray.  They just ride it out naturally.

The survey also found that 21% of men never use shampoo . . . it's not necessarily the same 21% who don't use deodorant, but there's probably some overlap.
